The Universal Lending Foundation is a Non-Profit, registered Colorado 501 (c) (3) orginization dedicated to helping people in our community.
The Adopt-A-Home Program
The mission of the Adopt-A-Home program is to help low-income seniors take care of their houses, allowing them to continue living in their home safely.
How It Works:
The Universal Lending Foundation will identify low-income, older adults who are struggling to afford the costs of maintenance and repairs on their houses. The Foundation will recruit and organize volunteers from businesses, churches, clubs and any other group that would like to lend a hand. Volunteers will be asked to make a one-year commitment to the house they adopt, helping out once a month with projects that will help seniors live comfortably and safely in their homes. Projects may include:
-
Painting and caulking
-
Gutter repair
-
Yard maintenance, landscaping and even planting flowers
-
Deck and porch repair
-
Fence installation and repair
-
Minor safety and mobility improvements
-
Minor roof and window repair
Special skills in construction or maintenance are welcomed, but not at all required. Just your commitment to make a difference in the life of an older person in our community.
Holiday Hugs
Holiday Hugs is an annual charity program that reaches out to children who suffer from chronic illnesses.
Employees of Universal Lending volunteer their time and money to purchase, wrap and deliver presents to children who are, for the most part, unable to leave the hospital due to their care needs.
"When we saw the opportunity to help these children and their families, and we know how important it is to help the rest of the families, we chose this part of Children's Hospital to be giving to. We know there are many needy children, but we found that being able to reach out to the families is just terrific," said Pete Lansing, president of Universal Lending.
Universal Lending has sponsored Holiday Hugs for several years and hopes to continue doing so for the foreseeable future .
